Journey Birth Center serves low-risk birthing moms seeking a natural birth and midwife-supported experience. We serve our beloved Texas communities, including but not limited to Humble, Houston, Kingwood, The Woodlands, Conroe, Porter, New Caney, Spring, Cypress, Tomball, Willis, and Montgomery. At our out-of-hospital Birth Clinic, we offer family-centered care, VBAC, and waterbirth options.

In the event that your care is transferred for any reason prior to 37 weeks, you can be refunded for the amount you already paid, minus the $1,200 deposit and $200 per prenatal appointment scheduled. Since a midwife is hired to be on-call starting at 37 weeks, refunds for transfer after 37 weeks BEFORE labor admission, is a flat refund of $1,500.  In the event of a hospital transfer AFTER labor admission to the birth center and before birth occurs, a flat refund of $1,000 is issued. Refunds are not available in the event of a precipitous delivery or  transport to the hospital after delivery.  Midwifery services are to make sure you get the best possible birth and this includes recognizing the occasional need for transport, or accommodating the family should they elect a transfer.  If you transfer care, whether prenatally or in labor, the midwife will facilitate a timely transfer of all charts and records, and if in labor will call ahead to ensure the hospital provider is ready to receive you upon arrival and promptly fax your records.  Though labor transfer is rare (less than 10% for first time moms/VBACs and less than 1% for those who have had a vaginal birth before), it is highly recommended that you hire a doula as your doula’s only job is to advocate for you and will accompany your delivery even in the event of transfer.
